Configuring Pro-Hydro Pedals

setup of pro hydro pedals

Updated yesterday

This guide will provide you with the steps to configure your Pro-Hydro Pedals. Configuration is needed when the pedals are connected for the first time, washer stack is adjusted or if the pedal stops are moved.

FPZERO Pro-Hydro 3 Pedal Set

  • Once you have connected the Pro-Hydro Pedals to the PC, open up DIView on the desktop. This is also available through the Documents folder.

  • Now DIView is open, you should see three axes(X,Y and Z axis) ; these are your pedal inputs. The device will show as either ‘FPZERO Pro-Hydro Pedals’ or ‘3 Axes USB Interface’ Right click on each axis and select ‘View Raw Data’

  • If you press your pedals individually you will see each axis move, determining which axis is for what pedal. Let’s say we are configuring the Throttle pedal, we will right click on the axis and click ‘Calibration’. (This is the process for each pedal)

  • The Calibration tool gives you three values to set, (Min, Center and Max)

Rest your foot on the pedal to where you think the starting point of it registering input should be. This is called creating a deadzone, essentially giving the pedal some play before the power comes on.

You will see that the raw value will increase as you rest on the pedal, so for example with your foot resting the raw value could be ‘1715’. We will want to round this up to ‘1720’ as we need it to be even. Now you would change your ‘min’ value to ‘1720’.

For the maximum it's the same principle, push the pedal as hard as you can till you get the maximum raw input. For example if it is ‘2226’ when pressed, we will call this ‘2210’ to create a deadzone at the top of the pedal. Now you would change your ‘max’ value to ‘2210’

For the ‘center’ value you need to add the min value and max value together, then divide by 2.

e.g. 1720 + 2210 = 3930

then divided by 2 = 1965

Meaning our center value is 1965

Now if you look at the axis, as you press the pedal down all the way the axis should range from 0 to 100%. These controls now need to be assigned in game.

Assetto Corsa

Open Assetto Corsa and click the “Main Menu” option, click the "options" icon as shown below. We then need to click on the "controls" tab within this dropdown.

From here we will be presented with the control configurator. When you click a button, push a pedal or turn the wheel the assigned control will highlight. If you see "click to assign", you need to click the box "click to assign" and then assign the relevant control.

iRacing

Same as we did with Assetto Corsa, we need to configure the pedals in iRacing.

  • Open iRacing and launch a test drive session. Once you have loaded into the game click on options and configure controls.

  • Assign the pedals individually to throttle, brake and clutch if you have one. iRacing will also show raw value like DIView did, so you will want to hit the pedal to 100% and then slowly bleed off until you get the value back down to 0%, then click ok. It is important you get the values as close as possible to 0 and 100 as if not it can mean the pedal either stays on or you cannot reach maximum input.
