Getting Started - Content Manager

content manager setup

Updated yesterday

In this guide we will go through getting started with Content Manager.

Content Manager is a game launcher for Assetto Corsa which gives much more functionality to the game and allows for a broader range of adjustments and also allows you to add cars and tracks to the game.

On all our simulators Content Manager is pre installed and will be the application you use to boot Assetto Corsa. You will find it on your desktop.

Changing Car and Track

To change which car and track you would like to use in Content Manager is nice and easy. Simply load up Content Manager and you will see the car and track on the screen. If you hover over these you will see a few options come up. On the Car Model, click ‘change car’ and on the track ‘change track’.

This will bring up a sub menu with all cars and tracks installed. Just search for what you want to drive and press ‘OK’.

Session Preferences

With these settings you can choose between ‘Practice, Hotlap, Race, Trackday, Weekend, Drift or Drag Race’. This is useful for changing between whether you want to practice your race craft or even focus on your qualifying laps. Practice mode is essentially ‘Free Practice’ which is great for doing lots of laps and honing in your car setup.

In the Race section, there are multiple things that can be changed.

All can be adjusted by moving the sliders.

If you press the three dots under the ‘Pro’ drop down, this will give you the option to adjust your assists. ‘Tyre Blankets’ will mean that when you leave the pits your tyres will be up to temp straight away. For the most realistic simulation we recommend leaving tyre blankets off, and stability control to 0%. Also having traction control and ABS to ‘Factory'

Weather and Track Conditions

You will see 'Real Conditions' which will select IRL conditions or you can select 'Ideal Conditions' meaning the track will be at the fastest it can be. If you select either of these you cannot manually change any other options.

To manually set up the conditions, make sure both are unselected, then you can change the Weather in the 'Weather' box and track condition in 'Track' box. You can also adjust temperature and wind speed by moving the sliders to your desired settings.

Once you have chosen your desired car and track, and also your settings. Press ‘Go!’ in the bottom right hand corner and you will be loaded into the game.

Adding Cars and Tracks

Content Manager is great for how easy it is to add cars and tracks. It is essentially ‘drag and drop’. Most cars and tracks are pre-installed, but if there is a specific car model you want to use, it can more than likely be found online.

Two good sites to find cars and tracks on are:

Once you have found the car or track you want, download it and follow the instructions below to add it into Content Manager. Drag and drop the file into Content Manager, then you will see the three dots in the top right hand corner turn green.

Click on the three dots and it will bring up a sub menu, it will then ask you if you want to install the mod you are adding. Press ‘Install’ and then it will be added. From here you can then choose the game or track to use in game.
